Blog Story #1
Alright everyone. Here is the first story for my blog. I hope that you all enjoy it. The sentence requested is underlined.
I quietly slipped inside the museum, through the revolving doors and into the dark main room. I peered into the dimly lit hallways. No signs of life there. Cautiously, I flicked my flashlight on. I inched along the shiny floor, moving past world maps, animal skeletons, and wax statues. My heart thumped in my chest, seeming to echo in the empty room. Finally I saw the door and moved toward it until I was right up next to it. Hands shaking, I pulled out my special tool and opened the lock. I breathed a barely audible sigh of relief as the door silently swung open. With cat-like grace, I slipped inside. I raised the beam of my flashlight and searched the displays until I found what I was looking for. A large diamond worth several hundred thousand dollars. I gulped as I remembered that this diamond alone could grant my heart's wishes. I moved forward, coming right in front of it's display. I whipped out my custom-designed laser and to work. One by one, the alarms were disabled. Finally I reached with trembling and grasped the diamond. Without warning an extremely loud alarm sounded, scaring me out of my wits. I thrust the jewel into a designated bag and dashed for the door. Just outside the door I heard and saw a night guard coming this way, gun in hand. I froze in the shadows next to the door. The guard passed right by me, missing me in the darkness. Once he was inside, I slammed the door shut, hoping to lock him in. But I realized that I didn't have a key, and my lock-picking tool would not lock a lock. So in desperation I reached for my glue bottle. On the other side of the door the guard was trying to turn the door knob. I held the doorknob tightly and held the bottle to the key hole. I had had hoped to jam the doorknob by putting glue in through the keyhole, so I wasn't prepared for what happened next. I squeezed hard and the bottle exploded. Globs of glue flew through the air and puddles formed on the shiny floor. I took one misstep and down I went! Kawumph! I had landed directly on my back in a huge puddle of glue. I could feel the sticky liquid seeping through my shirt. I groaned. Suddenly I came back to reality and jumped up. Not a moment too soon, either. The door flew open and the guard rushed out, aiming his gun wildly. I gave a girlish squeal and fled down the hallways. Everything else was a blur. Heading for the entrance, I dashed past numerous exhibits. But I didn't see the elephant skeleton on display, and without stopping, I ran right into it. Elephant bones scattered everywhere and I once again slipped and fell on my back and on an elephant's leg bone. The bone stuck fast to the glue on my back. I ignored the bone for the moment and dashed for the entrance, but alas, I found that going through revolving doors is almost impossible with an elephant's leg glued to your back. I stopped trying to fight my way through the revolving doors and instead concentrated on removing the leg from my back. No matter how hard I tried, the elephant's leg remained glued to my back. So I was caught by the guard and sent to prison. The elephants leg was removed through surgery, but the globs of glue all over my face are ugly reminders of what happened. I'm working on prying them off, right now. I now understand why they call Super Glue, Super Glue!
So I hoped that you like it. It took me about a day. Enjoy. I'm going to bed. Goodnight everyone.
